Notes:
- Jack and Denice, mentioned in the acknowledgements at the very end of the credits, are Jocelyn's parents;
- The Paul mentioned there, is most likely P.J. Hogan, who was Jocelyn's boyfriend at the time of filming (and later husband). He co-edited The Siege of Barton's Bathroom credited as Paul Hogan and later wrote two episodes for the television series (Half-time and Suspected) credited as P.J. Hogan;
- Jane Castle, Maria Ferro, Noel Cunnington, Liam (Ciam) Egan and Doug Howard are all AFTRS alumni; as is Jocelyn Moorhouse.
- The sound assistant's name, Ciam Egan, is very likely a typo and should read Liam Egan; who graduated the AFTRS for "Sound" in 1986;
- There is an AFTRS graduate named Ruth Cullen, the same name as the film's Production Manager, but she graduated in 2017. I'm not sure if this is the same Ruth Cullen.

JOCELYN MOORHOUSE

Jocelyn Moorhouse was born in Melbourne on 4 September 1960. She attended the Australian Television, Film and Radio School in Sydney. After completing her education, she was given a grant by the Australian Film Comittee to make a short film aimed at children. That film was The Siege of Bartons' Bathroom, which later became the basis for our favourite series.
Jocelyn went on to become a very succesful filmmaker. Her first feature, Proof (1991) with Hugo Weaving and Russel Crowe among others, is generally considered one of the more notable Australian films and launched her international film making career.
Jocelyn is married to PJ Hogan (who also worked on C/o The Bartons and who she met in school) and they have four children. Two of these children have a form of autism, and Jocelyn paused her filmmaking career for several years to take care of them.
Jocelyn wrote two books; C/o The Bartons and Unconditional Love; the latter being an autobiography. She resumed her career in recent years, resulting in The Dressmaker as her first new project. Her husband co-wrote that film with her.

PJ HOGAN

With two episodes to his name, PJ Hogan sure made his mark on the series. His episodes shone a different light on the family, not focussing on Elly as much as the other ten episodes, but rather on her brother Paul Barton.
Although credited as Paul J. Hogan on Bartons, and Paul Hogan on The Siege of Barton's Bathroom, he changed his name to P.J. Hogan later in life to avoid confusion with the Australian actor/comedian Paul Hogan. PJ is married to Jocelyn Moorhouse (who created our favourite series and short film). He also makes films together with his wife, for instance he co-wrote her film The Dressmaker.
He also edited The Siege of Barton's Bathroom.
Shortly after The Bartons, PJ became one of Australia's more successful film makers, responsible for Muriel's Wedding (also featuring Matt Day), My Best Friends Wedding, Peter Pan (2003), Confessions of a Shopaholic and Mental.
The two episodes he wrote for Bartons show what boys (can) go through at age 14; peer pressure, being told to essentially push back your own personality and identity to create one that matches the expectations of your elders and other boys your age. You don't like sports? Better make everyone believe you do. You don't want to enter the high school hunting fields and chase girls? Better make sure you do, or you'll be "suspected". If you're different, or too sensitive to your peers' liking, you run the risk of being bullied.
In my opinion, PJ Hogan nailed that aspect of boyhood. It was a daring thing to put into a kids show in the 80s and I respect him tremendously for that.
